&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Nothing ventured, nothing gained.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough (a personal favorite).&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt (thanks, Scotty)&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Work smarter, not harder (thanks, EVERYONE!)&lt;/LI&gt;
