We've been asking if people prefer to have a mid-week or a Sunday night service.Â Results are about 50/50 with most people saying "either."Â We've decided that "all things being equal" Sunday night is going to work out a little better.Â We're going to begin on Sunday, July 11, at 6:00pm.Â We've got some exciting things planned so come check it out.Â Remember, some folks can't make it on Sunday morning, so this gives them another opportunity to be a part of what we're doing.Â Make sure and invite them to attend.

Proverbs

Right now, at Lakeside, we're doing a series on the book of Proverbs. As many of you know, the book of Proverbs was created when some folks decided it would be a good idea to collect wise sayings of their day and put them in one place. We decided it would be fun to collect contemporary (and not so contemporary) proverbs from our day. Feel free to include some of your favorite biblical proverbs as well.

Remember what a proverb is: a short, catchy phrase (easy to remember) meant to convey wisdom.

Here are some I can think of off the top of my head.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink
If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough (a personal favorite).
Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt (thanks, Scotty)
Work smarter, not harder (thanks, EVERYONE!)
Look before you leap
Many hands make light work
Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Feeling Better

He everyone,

As you many know I was really sick yesterday. It was the third time in 15 years I've had to miss a Sunday morning due to illness. Thanks to Randy W. who filled in for me at the last minute and did a great job. I feel much better now, but I'm really weak. Here's the weird thing: you know how you're usually not hungry when your sick? Well, I ate like three times my normal about of food yesterday. I could not stop eating and everything tasted great. Strange huh?

Hello everyone. We're having a good time out here in Cali. We're on our way out to the San Diego zoo so I'm kinda in a rush. Tonight we're going grunion (sp?) hunting. Does anyone know what that is? Renee has been talking about it since before we were married. She used to do it when she was a kid and I've been teasing her that it is just an urban legend. We'll find out who's right tonight.

Make sure and make it out to see Pastor Heath tomorrow. He is super-cool. You will be sorry if you miss him. God bless.
